my practice
My approach to counseling is to use an
eclectic range of techniques, including
cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and
more strength-based, humanistic approaches,
to help people identify the change(s)
they want to make, and guide them in
ultimately reaching their goals. I have
had the privilege to help individuals,
couples, and families with their journeys
in the context of various mental health
systems, the human services field and
hospice.
In keeping with the goal of healing and growth, I also believe they are not always achieved through talk therapy alone. Another unique aspect of my practice is the potential use of yoga therapy (I have extensive experience as a certified yoga instructor). I believe strengthening the mind/body connection can also empower clients to reach their desired outcomes.
